وَإِن And indeed كَادُوا۟ they were about لَيَسْتَفِزُّونَكَ (to) scare you مِنَ from ٱلْأَرْضِ the land لِيُخْرِجُوكَ that they evict you مِنْهَا ۖ from it وَإِذًۭا But then لَّا not يَلْبَثُونَ they (would) have stayed خِلَـٰفَكَ after you إِلَّا except قَلِيلًۭا a little ٧٦
And indeed, they were about to provoke [i.e., drive] you from the land [i.e., Makkah] to evict you therefrom. And then [when they do], they will not remain [there] after you, except for a little.
— Come To Light
سُنَّةَ (Such is Our) Way مَن (for) whom قَدْ [verily] أَرْسَلْنَا We sent قَبْلَكَ before you مِن of رُّسُلِنَا ۖ Our Messengers وَلَا And not تَجِدُ you will find لِسُنَّتِنَا (in) Our way تَحْوِيلًا any alteration ٧٧
[That is Our] established way for those We had sent before you of Our messengers; and you will not find in Our way any alteration.
— Come To Light
أَقِمِ Establish ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ the prayer لِدُلُوكِ at the decline ٱلشَّمْسِ (of) the sun إِلَىٰ till غَسَقِ (the) darkness ٱلَّيْلِ (of) the night وَقُرْءَانَ and Quran ٱلْفَجْرِ ۖ at dawn إِنَّ indeed قُرْءَانَ the Quran ٱلْفَجْرِ (at) the dawn كَانَ is مَشْهُودًۭا ever witnessed ٧٨
Establish prayer at the decline of the sun [from its meridian] until the darkness of the night and [also] the Qur’ān [i.e., recitation] of dawn. Indeed, the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed.
— Come To Light
وَمِنَ And from ٱلَّيْلِ the night فَتَهَجَّدْ arise from sleep for prayer بِهِۦ with it نَافِلَةًۭ (as) additional لَّكَ for you عَسَىٰٓ it may be أَن that يَبْعَثَكَ will raise you رَبُّكَ your Lord مَقَامًۭا (to) a station مَّحْمُودًۭا praiseworthy ٧٩
And from [part of] the night, pray with it [i.e., recitation of the Qur’ān] as additional [worship] for you; it is expected that your Lord will resurrect you to a praised station.
— Come To Light
وَقُل And say رَّبِّ My Lord أَدْخِلْنِى Cause me to enter مُدْخَلَ an entrance صِدْقٍۢ sound وَأَخْرِجْنِى and cause me to exit مُخْرَجَ an exit صِدْقٍۢ sound وَٱجْعَل and make لِّى for me مِن from لَّدُنكَ near You سُلْطَـٰنًۭا an authority نَّصِيرًۭا helping ٨٠
And say, "My Lord, cause me to enter a sound entrance and to exit a sound exit and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority."
— Come To Light
وَقُلْ And say جَآءَ Has come ٱلْحَقُّ the truth وَزَهَقَ and perished ٱلْبَـٰطِلُ ۚ the falsehood إِنَّ Indeed ٱلْبَـٰطِلَ the falsehood كَانَ is زَهُوقًۭا (bound) to perish ٨١
And say, "Truth has come, and falsehood has departed. Indeed is falsehood, [by nature], ever bound to depart."
— Come To Light
وَنُنَزِّلُ And We reveal مِنَ from ٱلْقُرْءَانِ the Quran مَا that هُوَ it شِفَآءٌۭ (is) a healing وَرَحْمَةٌۭ and a mercy لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۙ for the believers وَلَا but not يَزِيدُ it increases ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ the wrongdoers إِلَّا except خَسَارًۭا (in) loss ٨٢
And We send down of the Qur’ān that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss.
— Come To Light
وَإِذَآ And when أَنْعَمْنَا We bestow favor عَلَى on ٱلْإِنسَـٰنِ man أَعْرَضَ he turns away وَنَـَٔا and becomes remote بِجَانِبِهِۦ ۖ on his side وَإِذَا And when مَسَّهُ touches him ٱلشَّرُّ the evil كَانَ he is يَـُٔوسًۭا (in) despair ٨٣
And when We bestow favor upon man [i.e., the disbeliever], he turns away and distances himself; and when evil touches him, he is ever despairing.
— Come To Light
قُلْ Say كُلٌّۭ Each يَعْمَلُ works عَلَىٰ on شَاكِلَتِهِۦ his manner فَرَبُّكُمْ but your Lord أَعْلَمُ (is) most knowing بِمَنْ of who هُوَ [he] أَهْدَىٰ (is) best guided سَبِيلًۭا (in) way ٨٤
Say, "Each works according to his manner, but your Lord is most knowing of who is best guided in way."
— Come To Light
وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ And they ask you عَنِ concerning ٱلرُّوحِ ۖ the soul قُلِ Say ٱلرُّوحُ The soul مِنْ (is) of أَمْرِ (the) affair رَبِّى (of) my Lord وَمَآ And not أُوتِيتُم you have been given مِّنَ of ٱلْعِلْمِ the knowledge إِلَّا except قَلِيلًۭا a little ٨٥
And they ask you, [O Muḥammad], about the soul. Say, "The soul is of the affair [i.e., concern] of my Lord. And you [i.e., mankind] have not been given of knowledge except a little."
— Come To Light
وَلَئِن And if شِئْنَا We willed لَنَذْهَبَنَّ We (would) have surely taken away بِٱلَّذِىٓ that which أَوْحَيْنَآ We have revealed إِلَيْكَ to you ثُمَّ Then لَا not تَجِدُ you would find لَكَ for you بِهِۦ concerning it عَلَيْنَا against Us وَكِيلًا any advocate ٨٦
And if We willed, We could surely do away with that which We revealed to you. Then you would not find for yourself concerning it an advocate against Us.
