Where hearts find rest

"Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured." We look for calm in many places - news, notifications, approval from others - and still feel restless. This verse points to the only lasting source of peace. A simple practice: after each prayer, sit for two minutes of dhikr before picking up your phone. Notice how the heart settles.

Al-Baqarah 2:286

Never beyond what you can bear

Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear. When a trial feels heavy, this verse is a quiet reminder that the weight was measured by the One who knows us best. The hardship is real, but so is the strength He has placed in us to carry it. The verse then teaches us what to do with that weight: turn it into du'a. "Our Lord, do not place upon us a burden like that which You placed on those before us... and pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us."

Az-Zumar 39:53

The door of mercy is always open

"Say, O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins." Shaytan's final trap is not the sin itself but despair after it. This verse closes that door completely. However far we have gone, the way back is one sincere step: repentance. Notice how Allah calls them "My servants" even while mentioning their sins.

Ash-Sharh 94:5

With hardship comes ease

"For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease." The promise is repeated twice. The scholars noted that "hardship" comes with the definite article while "ease" does not - one hardship is surrounded by more than one ease. Ease does not only come after the difficulty; it comes with it: the patience you are given, the people who support you, the du'a that is opened to you.
