Yusuf

English: History of Prophet Yusuf (AS) • Lineage: Prophet Yusuf (Joseph) was the son of Prophet Ya'qub (Jacob), the grandson of Ishaq (Isaac), and the great-grandson of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham). • The Dream: As a young boy, Yusuf saw a dream of eleven stars, the sun, and the moon prostrating to him. When he shared this with Ya'qub (AS), his father warned him not to tell his brothers, knowing they would envy him. • The Betrayal: Out of jealousy over their father's deep affection for Yusuf and his younger brother Binyamin, the older half-brothers plotted against him. They threw Yusuf into a deep well and brought a blood-stained shirt back to Ya'qub (AS), lying that a wolf had eaten him. • Sold into Slavery: A passing caravan found Yusuf in the well and took him to Egypt, where he was sold as a slave to a high-ranking Egyptian official known as Al-Azeez. • Trials and Imprisonment: Yusuf grew up in Al-Azeez's house. Zulaikha (the wife of Al-Azeez) falsely accused him after attempting to seduce him, which led to his imprisonment despite his innocence. • Dream Interpretation in Prison: While in prison, Yusuf interpreted the dreams of two inmates with remarkable accuracy. Years later, the King of Egypt had a troubling dream about seven fat cows and ears of grain devoured by seven lean ones, alongside seven withered ears. The King's cupbearer remembered Yusuf's skill. • Rise to Power: Yusuf interpreted the dream to mean seven years of abundance followed by seven years of severe famine, advising the kingdom to store grain. Impressed by his wisdom and proven innocent of Zulaikha's charge, the King released him and appointed him as the minister of the granaries and storekeeper of Egypt. • Reunion: During the nationwide famine, Yusuf’s brothers traveled to Egypt for food. Yusuf recognized them, arranged a joyful reunion with his brother Binyamin, and eventually revealed his true identity. He sent his shirt to restore his blind father Ya'qub's sight, bringing the entire family to settle in Egypt.
