أَفَلَمْ Do they not يَسِيرُوا۟ travel فِى through ٱلْأَرْضِ the land فَيَنظُرُوا۟ and see كَيْفَ how كَانَ was عَـٰقِبَةُ (the) end ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who مِن (were) before them قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ (were) before them كَانُوٓا۟ They were أَكْثَرَ more numerous مِنْهُمْ than them وَأَشَدَّ and mightier قُوَّةًۭ (in) strength وَءَاثَارًۭا and impressions فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the land فَمَآ but not أَغْنَىٰ availed عَنْهُم them مَّا what كَانُوا۟ they used to يَكْسِبُونَ earn ٨٢
Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them? They were more numerous than themselves and greater in strength and in impression on the land, but they were not availed by what they used to earn.
