أَرَءَيْتَ Have you seen إِن if كَذَّبَ he denies وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ and turns away ١٣
Have you seen if he denies and turns away -
— Come To Light
أَلَمْ Does not يَعْلَم he know بِأَنَّ that ٱللَّهَ Allah يَرَىٰ sees ١٤
Does he not know that Allāh sees?
— Come To Light
كَلَّا Nay لَئِن If لَّمْ not يَنتَهِ he desists لَنَسْفَعًۢا surely We will drag him بِٱلنَّاصِيَةِ by the forelock ١٥
No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock
— Come To Light
نَاصِيَةٍۢ A forelock كَـٰذِبَةٍ lying خَاطِئَةٍۢ sinful ١٦
A lying, sinning forelock.
— Come To Light
فَلْيَدْعُ Then let him call نَادِيَهُۥ his associates ١٧
Then let him call his associates;
— Come To Light
سَنَدْعُ We will call ٱلزَّبَانِيَةَ the Angels of Hell ١٨
We will call the angels of Hell.
— Come To Light
كَلَّا Nay لَا (Do) not تُطِعْهُ obey him وَٱسْجُدْ But prostrate وَٱقْتَرِب ۩ and draw near (to Allah) ١٩
No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allāh].

97. Surah Al-Qadr
The Power · Makki · 5 Ayahs
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
إِنَّآ Indeed, We أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ revealed it فِى in لَيْلَةِ (the) Night ٱلْقَدْرِ (of) Power ١
Indeed, We sent it [i.e., the Qur’ān] down during the Night of Decree.
— Come To Light
وَمَآ And what أَدْرَىٰكَ can make you know مَا what لَيْلَةُ (the) Night ٱلْقَدْرِ (of) Power (is) ٢
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
— Come To Light
لَيْلَةُ (The) Night ٱلْقَدْرِ (of) Power خَيْرٌۭ (is) better مِّنْ than أَلْفِ a thousand شَهْرٍۢ month(s) ٣
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
— Come To Light
تَنَزَّلُ Descend ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ the Angels وَٱلرُّوحُ and the Spirit فِيهَا therein بِإِذْنِ by (the) permission رَبِّهِم (of) their Lord مِّن for كُلِّ every أَمْرٍۢ affair ٤
The angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.
— Come To Light
سَلَـٰمٌ Peace هِىَ it (is) حَتَّىٰ until مَطْلَعِ (the) emergence ٱلْفَجْرِ (of) the dawn ٥
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.

98. Surah Al-Bayyinah
The Clear Proof · Madani · 8 Ayahs
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
لَمْ Not يَكُنِ were ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved مِنْ from أَهْلِ (the) People ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ of the Book وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ and the polytheists مُنفَكِّينَ to be abandoned حَتَّىٰ until تَأْتِيَهُمُ (there) comes to them ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ the clear evidence ١
Those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists were not to be parted [from misbelief] until there came to them clear evidence
— Come To Light
رَسُولٌۭ A Messenger مِّنَ from ٱللَّهِ Allah يَتْلُوا۟ reciting صُحُفًۭا pages مُّطَهَّرَةًۭ purified ٢
A Messenger from Allāh, reciting purified scriptures
— Come To Light
فِيهَا Wherein كُتُبٌۭ (are) writings قَيِّمَةٌۭ correct ٣
Within which are correct writings [i.e., rulings and laws].
— Come To Light
وَمَا And not تَفَرَّقَ became divided ٱلَّذِينَ those who أُوتُوا۟ were given ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ the Book إِلَّا until مِنۢ from بَعْدِ after مَا what جَآءَتْهُمُ came (to) them ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ (of) the clear evidence ٤
Nor did those who were given the Scripture become divided until after there had come to them clear evidence.
— Come To Light
وَمَآ And not أُمِرُوٓا۟ they were commanded إِلَّا except لِيَعْبُدُوا۟ to worship ٱللَّهَ Allah مُخْلِصِينَ (being) sincere لَهُ to Him ٱلدِّينَ (in) the religion حُنَفَآءَ upright وَيُقِيمُوا۟ and to establish ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ the prayer وَيُؤْتُوا۟ and to give ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ ۚ the zakah وَذَٰلِكَ And that دِينُ (is the) religion ٱلْقَيِّمَةِ the correct ٥
And they were not commanded except to worship Allāh, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakāh. And that is the correct religion.
