إِنَّ Indeed أَصْحَـٰبَ (the) companions ٱلْجَنَّةِ (of) Paradise ٱلْيَوْمَ this Day فِى [in] شُغُلٍۢ will be occupied فَـٰكِهُونَ (in) amusement ٥٥
Indeed the companions of Paradise, that Day, will be amused in [joyful] occupation -
— Come To Light
هُمْ They وَأَزْوَٰجُهُمْ and their spouses فِى in ظِلَـٰلٍ shades عَلَى on ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ [the] couches مُتَّكِـُٔونَ reclining ٥٦
They and their spouses - in shade, reclining on adorned couches.
— Come To Light
لَهُمْ For them فِيهَا therein فَـٰكِهَةٌۭ (are) fruits وَلَهُم and for them مَّا (is) whatever يَدَّعُونَ they call for ٥٧
For them therein is fruit, and for them is whatever they request [or wish]
— Come To Light
سَلَـٰمٌۭ Peace قَوْلًۭا A word مِّن from رَّبٍّۢ a Lord رَّحِيمٍۢ Most Merciful ٥٨
[And] "Peace," a word from a Merciful Lord.
— Come To Light
وَٱمْتَـٰزُوا۟ But stand apart ٱلْيَوْمَ today أَيُّهَا O criminals ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ O criminals ٥٩
[Then He will say], "But stand apart today, you criminals.
— Come To Light
۞ أَلَمْ Did not أَعْهَدْ I enjoin إِلَيْكُمْ upon you يَـٰبَنِىٓ O Children of Adam ءَادَمَ O Children of Adam أَن That لَّا (do) not تَعْبُدُوا۟ worship ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ ۖ the Shaitaan إِنَّهُۥ indeed, he لَكُمْ (is) for you عَدُوٌّۭ an enemy مُّبِينٌۭ clear ٦٠
Did I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you not worship Satan - [for] indeed, he is to you a clear enemy -
— Come To Light
وَأَنِ And that ٱعْبُدُونِى ۚ you worship Me هَـٰذَا This صِرَٰطٌۭ (is) a Path مُّسْتَقِيمٌۭ Straight ٦١
And that you worship [only] Me? This is a straight path.
— Come To Light
وَلَقَدْ And indeed أَضَلَّ he led astray مِنكُمْ from you جِبِلًّۭا a multitude كَثِيرًا ۖ great أَفَلَمْ Then did not تَكُونُوا۟ you تَعْقِلُونَ use reason ٦٢
And he had already led astray from among you much of creation, so did you not use reason?
— Come To Light
هَـٰذِهِۦ This (is) جَهَنَّمُ (the) Hell ٱلَّتِى which كُنتُمْ you were تُوعَدُونَ promised ٦٣
This is the Hellfire which you were promised.
— Come To Light
ٱصْلَوْهَا Burn therein ٱلْيَوْمَ today بِمَا because كُنتُمْ you used to تَكْفُرُونَ disbelieve ٦٤
[Enter to] burn therein today for what you used to deny."
— Come To Light
ٱلْيَوْمَ This Day نَخْتِمُ We will seal عَلَىٰٓ [on] أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ their mouths وَتُكَلِّمُنَآ and will speak to Us أَيْدِيهِمْ their hands وَتَشْهَدُ and will bear witness أَرْجُلُهُم their feet بِمَا about what كَانُوا۟ they used to يَكْسِبُونَ earn ٦٥
That Day, We will seal over their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify about what they used to earn.
— Come To Light
وَلَوْ And if نَشَآءُ We willed لَطَمَسْنَا We (would have) surely obliterated عَلَىٰٓ [over] أَعْيُنِهِمْ their eyes فَٱسْتَبَقُوا۟ then they (would) race ٱلصِّرَٰطَ (to find) the path فَأَنَّىٰ then how يُبْصِرُونَ (could) they see ٦٦
And if We willed, We could have obliterated their eyes, and they would race to [find] the path, and how could they see?
— Come To Light
وَلَوْ And if نَشَآءُ We willed لَمَسَخْنَـٰهُمْ surely, We (would have) transformed them عَلَىٰ in مَكَانَتِهِمْ their places فَمَا then not ٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟ they would have been able مُضِيًّۭا to proceed وَلَا and not يَرْجِعُونَ return ٦٧
And if We willed, We could have deformed them, [paralyzing them] in their places so they would not be able to proceed, nor could they return.
— Come To Light
وَمَن And (he) whom نُّعَمِّرْهُ We grant him long life نُنَكِّسْهُ We reverse him فِى in ٱلْخَلْقِ ۖ the creation أَفَلَا Then will not يَعْقِلُونَ they use intellect ٦٨
And he to whom We grant long life We reverse in creation; so will they not understand?
— Come To Light
وَمَا And not عَلَّمْنَـٰهُ We taught him ٱلشِّعْرَ [the] poetry وَمَا and not يَنۢبَغِى it is befitting لَهُۥٓ ۚ for him إِنْ Not هُوَ it إِلَّا (is) except ذِكْرٌۭ a Reminder وَقُرْءَانٌۭ and a Quran مُّبِينٌۭ clear ٦٩
And We did not give him [i.e., Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ)] knowledge of poetry, nor is it befitting for him. It is not but a message and a clear Qur’ān
— Come To Light
لِّيُنذِرَ To warn مَن (him) who كَانَ is حَيًّۭا alive وَيَحِقَّ and may be proved true ٱلْقَوْلُ the Word عَلَى against ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ the disbelievers ٧٠
To warn whoever is alive and justify the word [i.e., decree] against the disbelievers.
