حَـٰفِظُوا۟ Guard strictly عَلَى [on] ٱلصَّلَوَٰتِ the prayers وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ and the prayer ٱلْوُسْطَىٰ [the] middle وَقُومُوا۟ and stand up لِلَّهِ for Allah قَـٰنِتِينَ devoutly obedient ٢٣٨
Maintain with care the [obligatory] prayers and [in particular] the middle [i.e., ʿaṣr] prayer and stand before Allāh, devoutly obedient.
— Come To Light
فَإِنْ And if خِفْتُمْ you fear فَرِجَالًا then (pray) on foot أَوْ or رُكْبَانًۭا ۖ riding فَإِذَآ Then when أَمِنتُمْ you are secure فَٱذْكُرُوا۟ then remember ٱللَّهَ Allah كَمَا as عَلَّمَكُم He (has) taught you مَّا what لَمْ not تَكُونُوا۟ you were تَعْلَمُونَ knowing ٢٣٩
And if you fear [an enemy, then pray] on foot or riding. But when you are secure, then remember Allāh [in prayer], as He has taught you that which you did not [previously] know.
— Come To Light
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who يُتَوَفَّوْنَ die مِنكُمْ among you وَيَذَرُونَ and leave behind أَزْوَٰجًۭا (their) wives وَصِيَّةًۭ (should make) a will لِّأَزْوَٰجِهِم for their wives مَّتَـٰعًا provision إِلَى for ٱلْحَوْلِ the year غَيْرَ without إِخْرَاجٍۢ ۚ driving (them) out فَإِنْ But if خَرَجْنَ they leave فَلَا then no جُنَاحَ blame عَلَيْكُمْ upon you فِى in مَا what فَعَلْنَ they do فِىٓ concerning أَنفُسِهِنَّ themselves مِن [of] مَّعْرُوفٍۢ ۗ honorably وَٱللَّهُ And Allah عَزِيزٌ (is) All-Mighty حَكِيمٌۭ All-Wise ٢٤٠
And those who are taken in death among you and leave wives behind - for their wives is a bequest: maintenance for one year without turning [them] out. But if they leave [of their own accord], then there is no blame upon you for what they do with themselves in an acceptable way. And Allāh is Exalted in Might and Wise.
— Come To Light
وَلِلْمُطَلَّقَـٰتِ And for the divorced women مَتَـٰعٌۢ (is) a provision بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ ۖ in a fair manner حَقًّا a duty عَلَى upon ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ the righteous ٢٤١
And for divorced women is a provision according to what is acceptable - a duty upon the righteous.
— Come To Light
كَذَٰلِكَ Thus يُبَيِّنُ makes clear ٱللَّهُ Allah لَكُمْ for you ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ His Verses لَعَلَّكُمْ so that you may تَعْقِلُونَ use your intellect ٢٤٢
Thus does Allāh make clear to you His verses [i.e., laws] that you might use reason.
— Come To Light
۞ أَلَمْ Did not تَرَ you see إِلَى [to] ٱلَّذِينَ those who خَرَجُوا۟ went out مِن from دِيَـٰرِهِمْ their homes وَهُمْ and they أُلُوفٌ (were in) thousands حَذَرَ (in) fear ٱلْمَوْتِ (of) [the] death فَقَالَ Then said لَهُمُ to them ٱللَّهُ Allah مُوتُوا۟ Die ثُمَّ then أَحْيَـٰهُمْ ۚ He restored them to life إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah لَذُو (is) surely Possessor فَضْلٍ (of) bounty عَلَى for ٱلنَّاسِ [the] mankind وَلَـٰكِنَّ [and] but أَكْثَرَ most ٱلنَّاسِ (of) the people لَا (are) not يَشْكُرُونَ grateful ٢٤٣
Have you not considered those who left their homes in many thousands, fearing death? Allāh said to them, "Die"; then He restored them to life. And Allāh is the possessor of bounty for the people, but most of the people do not show gratitude.
— Come To Light
وَقَـٰتِلُوا۟ And fight فِى in سَبِيلِ (the) way ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ and know أَنَّ that ٱللَّهَ Allah سَمِيعٌ (is) All-Hearing عَلِيمٌۭ All-Knowing ٢٤٤
And fight in the cause of Allāh and know that Allāh is Hearing and Knowing.
— Come To Light
مَّن Who ذَا (is) the one ٱلَّذِى who يُقْرِضُ will lend ٱللَّهَ (to) Allah قَرْضًا a loan حَسَنًۭا good فَيُضَـٰعِفَهُۥ so (that) He multiplies it لَهُۥٓ for him أَضْعَافًۭا manifolds كَثِيرَةًۭ ۚ many وَٱللَّهُ And Allah يَقْبِضُ withholds وَيَبْصُۜطُ and grants abundance وَإِلَيْهِ and to Him تُرْجَعُونَ you will be returned ٢٤٥
Who is it that would loan Allāh a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allāh who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be returned.
