فِى Concerning ٱلدُّنْيَا the world وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۗ and the Hereafter وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ They ask you عَنِ about ٱلْيَتَـٰمَىٰ ۖ the orphans قُلْ Say إِصْلَاحٌۭ Setting right (their affairs) لَّهُمْ for them خَيْرٌۭ ۖ (is) best وَإِن And if تُخَالِطُوهُمْ you associate with them فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْ ۚ then they (are) your brothers وَٱللَّهُ And Allah يَعْلَمُ knows ٱلْمُفْسِدَ the corrupter مِنَ from ٱلْمُصْلِحِ ۚ the amender وَلَوْ And if شَآءَ (had) willed ٱللَّهُ Allah لَأَعْنَتَكُمْ ۚ surely He (could have) put you in difficulties إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah عَزِيزٌ (is) All-Mighty حَكِيمٌۭ All-Wise ٢٢٠

To this world and the Hereafter. And they ask you about orphans. Say, "Improvement for them is best. And if you mix your affairs with theirs - they are your brothers. And Allāh knows the corrupter from the amender. And if Allāh had willed, He could have put you in difficulty. Indeed, Allāh is Exalted in Might and Wise."

2:221

وَلَا And (do) not تَنكِحُوا۟ [you] marry ٱلْمُشْرِكَـٰتِ [the] polytheistic women حَتَّىٰ until يُؤْمِنَّ ۚ they believe وَلَأَمَةٌۭ And a bondwoman مُّؤْمِنَةٌ (who is) believing خَيْرٌۭ (is) better مِّن than مُّشْرِكَةٍۢ a polytheistic woman وَلَوْ [and] even if أَعْجَبَتْكُمْ ۗ she pleases you وَلَا And (do) not تُنكِحُوا۟ give in marriage (your women) ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ (to) [the] polytheistic men حَتَّىٰ until يُؤْمِنُوا۟ ۚ they believe وَلَعَبْدٌۭ and a bondman مُّؤْمِنٌ (who is) believing خَيْرٌۭ (is) better مِّن than مُّشْرِكٍۢ a polytheistic man وَلَوْ [and] even if أَعْجَبَكُمْ ۗ he pleases you أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ [Those] يَدْعُونَ they invite إِلَى to ٱلنَّارِ ۖ the Fire وَٱللَّهُ and Allah يَدْعُوٓا۟ invites إِلَى to ٱلْجَنَّةِ Paradise وَٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ and [the] forgiveness بِإِذْنِهِۦ ۖ by His permission وَيُبَيِّنُ And He makes clear ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ His Verses لِلنَّاسِ for the people لَعَلَّهُمْ so that they may يَتَذَكَّرُونَ take heed ٢٢١

And do not marry polytheistic women until they believe. And a believing slave woman is better than a polytheist, even though she might please you. And do not marry polytheistic men [to your women] until they believe. And a believing slave is better than a polytheist, even though he might please you. Those invite [you] to the Fire, but Allāh invites to Paradise and to forgiveness, by His permission. And He makes clear His verses [i.e., ordinances] to the people that perhaps they may remember.

2:222

وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ And they ask you عَنِ about ٱلْمَحِيضِ ۖ [the] menstruation قُلْ Say هُوَ It أَذًۭى (is) a hurt فَٱعْتَزِلُوا۟ so keep away (from) ٱلنِّسَآءَ [the] women فِى during ٱلْمَحِيضِ ۖ (their) [the] menstruation وَلَا And (do) not تَقْرَبُوهُنَّ approach them حَتَّىٰ until يَطْهُرْنَ ۖ they are cleansed فَإِذَا Then when تَطَهَّرْنَ they are purified فَأْتُوهُنَّ then come to them مِنْ from حَيْثُ where أَمَرَكُمُ has ordered you ٱللَّهُ ۚ Allah إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah يُحِبُّ loves ٱلتَّوَّٰبِينَ those who turn in repentance وَيُحِبُّ and loves ٱلْمُتَطَهِّرِينَ those who purify themselves ٢٢٢

And they ask you about menstruation. Say, "It is harm, so keep away from wives during menstruation. And do not approach them until they are pure. And when they have purified themselves, then come to them from where Allāh has ordained for you. Indeed, Allāh loves those who are constantly repentant and loves those who purify themselves."

2:223

نِسَآؤُكُمْ Your wives حَرْثٌۭ (are) a tilth لَّكُمْ for you فَأْتُوا۟ so come حَرْثَكُمْ (to) your tilth أَنَّىٰ when شِئْتُمْ ۖ you wish وَقَدِّمُوا۟ and send forth (good deeds) لِأَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ for yourselves وَٱتَّقُوا۟ And be conscious ٱللَّهَ (of) Allah وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ and know أَنَّكُم that you مُّلَـٰقُوهُ ۗ (will) meet Him وَبَشِّرِ And give glad tidings ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ (to) the believers ٢٢٣

Your wives are a place of cultivation [i.e., sowing of seed] for you, so come to your place of cultivation however you wish and put forth [righteousness] for yourselves. And fear Allāh and know that you will meet Him. And give good tidings to the believers.

2:224

وَلَا And (do) not تَجْعَلُوا۟ make ٱللَّهَ Allah's (name) عُرْضَةًۭ an excuse لِّأَيْمَـٰنِكُمْ in your oaths أَن that تَبَرُّوا۟ you do good وَتَتَّقُوا۟ and be righteous وَتُصْلِحُوا۟ and make peace بَيْنَ between ٱلنَّاسِ ۗ [the] people وَٱللَّهُ And Allah سَمِيعٌ (is) All-Hearing عَلِيمٌۭ All-Knowing ٢٢٤

And do not make [your oath by] Allāh an excuse against being righteous and fearing Allāh and making peace among people. And Allāh is Hearing and Knowing.
