وَمَا And not تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ you ask them عَلَيْهِ for it مِنْ any أَجْرٍ ۚ reward إِنْ Not هُوَ (is) it إِلَّا but ذِكْرٌۭ a reminder لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ to the worlds ١٠٤
And you do not ask of them for it any payment. It is not except a reminder to the worlds.
— Come To Light
وَكَأَيِّن And how many مِّنْ of ءَايَةٍۢ a Sign فِى in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth يَمُرُّونَ they pass عَلَيْهَا over it وَهُمْ while they عَنْهَا (are) from them مُعْرِضُونَ the ones who turn away ١٠٥
And how many a sign within the heavens and earth do they pass over while they, therefrom, are turning away.
— Come To Light
وَمَا And not يُؤْمِنُ believe أَكْثَرُهُم most of them بِٱللَّهِ in Allah إِلَّا except وَهُم while they مُّشْرِكُونَ associate partners with Him ١٠٦
And most of them believe not in Allāh except while they associate others with Him.
— Come To Light
أَفَأَمِنُوٓا۟ Do they then feel secure أَن (against) that تَأْتِيَهُمْ comes to them غَـٰشِيَةٌۭ an overwhelming مِّنْ [of] عَذَابِ punishment ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah أَوْ or تَأْتِيَهُمُ comes to them ٱلسَّاعَةُ the Hour بَغْتَةًۭ suddenly وَهُمْ while they لَا (do) not يَشْعُرُونَ perceive ١٠٧
Then do they feel secure that there will not come to them an overwhelming [aspect] of the punishment of Allāh or that the Hour will not come upon them suddenly while they do not perceive?
— Come To Light
قُلْ Say هَـٰذِهِۦ This سَبِيلِىٓ (is) my way أَدْعُوٓا۟ I invite إِلَى to ٱللَّهِ ۚ Allah عَلَىٰ with بَصِيرَةٍ insight أَنَا۠ I وَمَنِ and whoever ٱتَّبَعَنِى ۖ follows me وَسُبْحَـٰنَ And Glory be ٱللَّهِ (to) Allah وَمَآ and not أَنَا۠ I am مِنَ of ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ the polytheists ١٠٨
Say, "This is my way; I invite to Allāh with insight, I and those who follow me. And exalted is Allāh; and I am not of those who associate others with Him."
— Come To Light
وَمَآ And not أَرْسَلْنَا We sent مِن before you قَبْلِكَ before you إِلَّا but رِجَالًۭا men نُّوحِىٓ We revealed إِلَيْهِم to them مِّنْ from (among) أَهْلِ (the) people ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ ۗ (of) the townships أَفَلَمْ So have not يَسِيرُوا۟ they traveled فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth فَيَنظُرُوا۟ and seen كَيْفَ how كَانَ was عَـٰقِبَةُ (the) end ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who مِن (were) before them قَبْلِهِمْ ۗ (were) before them وَلَدَارُ And surely the home ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ (of) the Hereafter خَيْرٌۭ (is) best لِّلَّذِينَ for those who ٱتَّقَوْا۟ ۗ fear Allah أَفَلَا Then will not تَعْقِلُونَ you use reason ١٠٩
And We sent not before you [as messengers] except men to whom We revealed from among the people of cities. So have they not traveled through the earth and observed how was the end of those before them? And the home of the Hereafter is best for those who fear Allāh; then will you not reason?
— Come To Light
حَتَّىٰٓ Until إِذَا when ٱسْتَيْـَٔسَ gave up hope ٱلرُّسُلُ the Messengers وَظَنُّوٓا۟ and thought أَنَّهُمْ that they قَدْ certainly كُذِبُوا۟ were denied جَآءَهُمْ then came to them نَصْرُنَا Our help فَنُجِّىَ and was saved مَن whom نَّشَآءُ ۖ We willed وَلَا And not يُرَدُّ (can) be repelled بَأْسُنَا Our punishment عَنِ from ٱلْقَوْمِ the people ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ (who are) criminals ١١٠
[They continued] until, when the messengers despaired and were certain that they had been denied, there came to them Our victory, and whoever We willed was saved. And Our punishment cannot be repelled from the people who are criminals.

لَقَدْ Verily كَانَ (there) is فِى in قَصَصِهِمْ their stories عِبْرَةٌۭ a lesson لِّأُو۟لِى for men ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ ۗ (of) understanding مَا Not كَانَ (it) is حَدِيثًۭا a narration يُفْتَرَىٰ invented وَلَـٰكِن but تَصْدِيقَ a confirmation ٱلَّذِى (of that) which بَيْنَ (was) before it يَدَيْهِ (was) before it وَتَفْصِيلَ and a detailed explanation كُلِّ (of) all شَىْءٍۢ things وَهُدًۭى and a guidance وَرَحْمَةًۭ and mercy لِّقَوْمٍۢ for a people يُؤْمِنُونَ who believe ١١١
There was certainly in their stories a lesson for those of understanding. Never was it [i.e., the Qur’ān] a narration invented, but a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of all things and guidance and mercy for a people who believe.
