سَبِّحِ Glorify ٱسْمَ (the) name رَبِّكَ (of) your Lord ٱلْأَعْلَى the Most High ١
Exalt the name of your Lord, the Most High,
— Come To Light
87. Surah Al-A'la
The Most High · Makki · 19 Ayahs
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
ٱلَّذِى The One Who خَلَقَ created فَسَوَّىٰ then proportioned ٢
Who created and proportioned
— Come To Light
وَٱلَّذِى And the One Who قَدَّرَ measured فَهَدَىٰ then guided ٣
And who destined and [then] guided
— Come To Light
وَٱلَّذِىٓ And the One Who أَخْرَجَ brings forth ٱلْمَرْعَىٰ the pasture ٤
And who brings out the pasture
— Come To Light
فَجَعَلَهُۥ And then makes it غُثَآءً stubble أَحْوَىٰ dark ٥
And [then] makes it black stubble.
— Come To Light
سَنُقْرِئُكَ We will make you recite فَلَا so not تَنسَىٰٓ you will forget ٦
We will make you recite, [O Muḥammad], and you will not forget,
— Come To Light
إِلَّا Except مَا what شَآءَ wills ٱللَّهُ ۚ Allah إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, He يَعْلَمُ knows ٱلْجَهْرَ the manifest وَمَا and what يَخْفَىٰ is hidden ٧
Except what Allāh should will. Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hidden.
— Come To Light
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ And We will ease you لِلْيُسْرَىٰ to the ease ٨
And We will ease you toward ease.
— Come To Light
فَذَكِّرْ So remind إِن if نَّفَعَتِ benefits ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ the reminder ٩
So remind, if the reminder should benefit;
— Come To Light
سَيَذَّكَّرُ He will pay heed مَن (one) who يَخْشَىٰ fears (Allah) ١٠
He who fears [Allāh] will be reminded.
— Come To Light
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا And will avoid it ٱلْأَشْقَى the wretched one ١١
But the wretched one will avoid it
— Come To Light
ٱلَّذِى The one who يَصْلَى will burn ٱلنَّارَ (in) the Fire ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ [the] great ١٢
[He] who will [enter and] burn in the greatest Fire,
— Come To Light
ثُمَّ Then لَا not يَمُوتُ he will die فِيهَا therein وَلَا and not يَحْيَىٰ will live ١٣
Neither dying therein nor living.
— Come To Light
قَدْ Certainly أَفْلَحَ has succeeded مَن (one) who تَزَكَّىٰ purifies (himself) ١٤
He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself
— Come To Light
وَذَكَرَ And remembers ٱسْمَ (the) name رَبِّهِۦ (of) his Lord فَصَلَّىٰ and prays ١٥
And mentions the name of his Lord and prays.
— Come To Light
بَلْ Nay تُؤْثِرُونَ You prefer ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ the life ٱلدُّنْيَا (of) the world ١٦
But you prefer the worldly life,
— Come To Light
وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ While the Hereafter خَيْرٌۭ (is) better وَأَبْقَىٰٓ and everlasting ١٧
While the Hereafter is better and more enduring.
— Come To Light
إِنَّ Indeed هَـٰذَا this لَفِى surely (is) in ٱلصُّحُفِ the Scriptures ٱلْأُولَىٰ [the] former ١٨
Indeed, this is in the former scriptures,
— Come To Light
صُحُفِ (The) Scriptures إِبْرَٰهِيمَ (of) Ibrahim وَمُوسَىٰ and Musa ١٩
The scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
— Come To Light
