Rabbana Dua 32: Comfort of Our Eyes and Leaders of the Righteous
রব্বানা দোয়া ৩২: চোখের শীতলতা ও মুত্তাকীদের নেতা
رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَٰجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّـٰتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍۢ وَٱجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
Rabbanaa hab lanaa min azwaajinaa wa zurriyaatinaa qurrata a’yuninw waj ’alnaa lilmuttaqeena Imaamaa
English
“Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.”

“হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! আমাদের স্ত্রী ও সন্তানদের পক্ষ থেকে আমাদের চোখের শীতলতা দান করুন এবং আমাদেরকে মুত্তাকীদের ইমাম (আদর্শ নেতা) বানিয়ে দিন।”

Qurrata ’ayoni is an old Arabic expression meaning to bring “coolness to the eye”, particularly in the spiritual sense of calmness, joy or happiness. We ask Allah (swt) to grant us coolness of the eyes among our wives and through our children and future generations, and to make us good leaders and role models for the righteous.
