فَٱلْيَوْمَ So today ٱلَّذِينَ those who ءَامَنُوا۟ believed مِنَ at ٱلْكُفَّارِ the disbelievers يَضْحَكُونَ they will laugh ٣٤
So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers,
— Come To Light
عَلَى On ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ the thrones يَنظُرُونَ observing ٣٥
On adorned couches, observing.
— Come To Light
هَلْ Have (not) ثُوِّبَ been rewarded ٱلْكُفَّارُ the disbelievers مَا (for) what كَانُوا۟ they used to يَفْعَلُونَ do ٣٦
Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do?
— Come To Light
84. Surah Al-Inshiqaq
The Sundering · Makki · 25 Ayahs
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
إِذَا When ٱلسَّمَآءُ the sky ٱنشَقَّتْ is split asunder ١
When the sky has split [open]
— Come To Light
وَأَذِنَتْ And has listened لِرَبِّهَا to its Lord وَحُقَّتْ and was obligated ٢
And has listened [i.e., responded] to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]
— Come To Light
وَإِذَا And when ٱلْأَرْضُ the earth مُدَّتْ is spread ٣
And when the earth has been extended
— Come To Light
وَأَلْقَتْ And has cast out مَا what فِيهَا (is) in it وَتَخَلَّتْ and becomes empty ٤
And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it].
— Come To Light
وَأَذِنَتْ And has listened لِرَبِّهَا to its Lord وَحُقَّتْ and was obligated ٥
And has listened [i.e., responded] to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] -
— Come To Light
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ mankind إِنَّكَ Indeed, you كَادِحٌ (are) laboring إِلَىٰ to رَبِّكَ your Lord كَدْحًۭا (with) exertion فَمُلَـٰقِيهِ and you (will) meet Him ٦
O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it.
— Come To Light
فَأَمَّا Then as for مَنْ (him) who أُوتِىَ is given كِتَـٰبَهُۥ his record بِيَمِينِهِۦ in his right (hand) ٧
Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand,
— Come To Light
فَسَوْفَ Then soon يُحَاسَبُ his account will be taken حِسَابًۭا an account يَسِيرًۭا easy ٨
He will be judged with an easy account
— Come To Light
وَيَنقَلِبُ And he will return إِلَىٰٓ to أَهْلِهِۦ his people مَسْرُورًۭا happily ٩
And return to his people in happiness.
— Come To Light
وَأَمَّا But as for مَنْ (him) who أُوتِىَ is given كِتَـٰبَهُۥ his record وَرَآءَ behind ظَهْرِهِۦ his back ١٠
But as for he who is given his record behind his back,
— Come To Light
فَسَوْفَ Then soon يَدْعُوا۟ he will call ثُبُورًۭا (for) destruction ١١
He will cry out for destruction
— Come To Light
وَيَصْلَىٰ And he will burn سَعِيرًا (in) a Blaze ١٢
And [enter to] burn in a Blaze.
— Come To Light
إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, he كَانَ had been فِىٓ among أَهْلِهِۦ his people مَسْرُورًا happy ١٣
Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness;
— Come To Light
إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, he ظَنَّ (had) thought أَن that لَّن never يَحُورَ he would return ١٤
Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allāh].
— Come To Light
بَلَىٰٓ Yes إِنَّ Indeed رَبَّهُۥ his Lord كَانَ was بِهِۦ of him بَصِيرًۭا All-Seer ١٥
But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever, of him, Seeing.
— Come To Light
فَلَآ But nay أُقْسِمُ I swear بِٱلشَّفَقِ by the twilight glow ١٦
So I swear by the twilight glow
— Come To Light
وَٱلَّيْلِ And the night وَمَا and what وَسَقَ it envelops ١٧
And [by] the night and what it envelops
— Come To Light
