أَمْ Or تَأْمُرُهُمْ command them أَحْلَـٰمُهُم their minds بِهَـٰذَآ ۚ this أَمْ or هُمْ they قَوْمٌۭ (are) a people طَاغُونَ transgressing ٣٢
Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people?
— Come To Light
أَمْ Or يَقُولُونَ (do) they say تَقَوَّلَهُۥ ۚ He has made it up بَل Nay لَّا not يُؤْمِنُونَ they believe ٣٣
Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe.
— Come To Light
فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ Then let them bring بِحَدِيثٍۢ a statement مِّثْلِهِۦٓ like it إِن if كَانُوا۟ they are صَـٰدِقِينَ truthful ٣٤
Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful.
— Come To Light
أَمْ Or خُلِقُوا۟ they were created مِنْ of غَيْرِ nothing شَىْءٍ nothing أَمْ or هُمُ (are) they ٱلْخَـٰلِقُونَ the creators ٣٥
Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]?
— Come To Light
أَمْ Or خَلَقُوا۟ (did) they create ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۚ and the earth بَل Nay لَّا not يُوقِنُونَ they are certain ٣٦
Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain.
— Come To Light
أَمْ Or عِندَهُمْ with them خَزَآئِنُ (are the) treasures رَبِّكَ (of) your Lord أَمْ or هُمُ (are) they ٱلْمُصَۣيْطِرُونَ the controllers ٣٧
Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]?
— Come To Light
أَمْ Or لَهُمْ for them سُلَّمٌۭ (is) a stairway يَسْتَمِعُونَ they listen فِيهِ ۖ therewith فَلْيَأْتِ Then let bring مُسْتَمِعُهُم their listener بِسُلْطَـٰنٍۢ an authority مُّبِينٍ clear ٣٨
Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority [i.e., proof].
— Come To Light
أَمْ Or لَهُ for Him ٱلْبَنَـٰتُ (are) daughters وَلَكُمُ while for you ٱلْبَنُونَ (are) sons ٣٩
Or has He daughters while you have sons?
— Come To Light
أَمْ Or تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ (do) you ask from them أَجْرًۭا a payment فَهُم so they مِّن from مَّغْرَمٍۢ a debt مُّثْقَلُونَ (are) overburdened ٤٠
Or do you, [O Muḥammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down?
— Come To Light
أَمْ Or عِندَهُمُ with them ٱلْغَيْبُ (is) the unseen فَهُمْ so they يَكْتُبُونَ write (it) down ٤١
Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?
— Come To Light
أَمْ Or يُرِيدُونَ (do) they intend كَيْدًۭا ۖ a plot فَٱلَّذِينَ But those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieve هُمُ themselves ٱلْمَكِيدُونَ (are in) the plot ٤٢
Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan.
— Come To Light
أَمْ Or لَهُمْ for them إِلَـٰهٌ a god غَيْرُ other than ٱللَّهِ ۚ Allah سُبْحَـٰنَ Glory be ٱللَّهِ (to) Allah عَمَّا from what يُشْرِكُونَ they associate (with Him) ٤٣
Or have they a deity other than Allāh? Exalted is Allāh above whatever they associate with Him.
— Come To Light
وَإِن And if يَرَوْا۟ they were to see كِسْفًۭا a portion مِّنَ from ٱلسَّمَآءِ the sky سَاقِطًۭا falling يَقُولُوا۟ they will say سَحَابٌۭ Clouds مَّرْكُومٌۭ heaped up ٤٤
And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up."
— Come To Light
فَذَرْهُمْ So leave them حَتَّىٰ until يُلَـٰقُوا۟ they meet يَوْمَهُمُ their Day ٱلَّذِى which فِيهِ in it يُصْعَقُونَ they will faint ٤٥
So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible -
— Come To Light
يَوْمَ (The) Day لَا not يُغْنِى will avail عَنْهُمْ to them كَيْدُهُمْ their plotting شَيْـًۭٔا (in) anything وَلَا and not هُمْ they يُنصَرُونَ will be helped ٤٦
The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped.
— Come To Light
وَإِنَّ And indeed لِلَّذِينَ for those who ظَلَمُوا۟ do wrong عَذَابًۭا (is) a punishment دُونَ before ذَٰلِكَ that وَلَـٰكِنَّ but أَكْثَرَهُمْ most of them لَا (do) not يَعْلَمُونَ know ٤٧
And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know.
— Come To Light
وَٱصْبِرْ So be patient لِحُكْمِ for (the) Command رَبِّكَ (of) your Lord فَإِنَّكَ for indeed, you بِأَعْيُنِنَا ۖ (are) in Our Eyes وَسَبِّحْ And glorify بِحَمْدِ (the) praise رَبِّكَ (of) your Lord حِينَ when تَقُومُ you arise ٤٨
And be patient, [O Muḥammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes [i.e., sight]. And exalt [Allāh] with praise of your Lord when you arise
— Come To Light
وَمِنَ And of ٱلَّيْلِ the night فَسَبِّحْهُ glorify Him وَإِدْبَـٰرَ and after ٱلنُّجُومِ the stars ٤٩
And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars.
— Come To Light
