42:52

وَكَذَٰلِكَ And thus أَوْحَيْنَآ We have revealed إِلَيْكَ to you رُوحًۭا an inspiration مِّنْ by أَمْرِنَا ۚ Our Command مَا Not كُنتَ (did) you تَدْرِى know مَا what ٱلْكِتَـٰبُ the Book (is) وَلَا and not ٱلْإِيمَـٰنُ the faith وَلَـٰكِن But جَعَلْنَـٰهُ We have made it نُورًۭا a light نَّهْدِى We guide بِهِۦ with it مَن whom نَّشَآءُ We will مِنْ of عِبَادِنَا ۚ Our slaves وَإِنَّكَ And indeed, you لَتَهْدِىٓ surely guide إِلَىٰ to صِرَٰطٍۢ (the) Path مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ Straight ٥٢

And thus We have revealed to you an inspiration of Our command [i.e., the Qur’ān]. You did not know what is the Book or [what is] faith, but We have made it a light by which We guide whom We will of Our servants. And indeed, [O Muḥammad], you guide to a straight path -

— Come To Light

42:53

صِرَٰطِ (The) path ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah ٱلَّذِى the One لَهُۥ to Whom مَا (belongs) whatever فِى (is) in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَمَا and whatever فِى (is) in ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ the earth أَلَآ Unquestionably إِلَى To ٱللَّهِ Allah تَصِيرُ reach ٱلْأُمُورُ all affairs ٥٣

The path of Allāh, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Unquestionably, to Allāh do [all] matters evolve [i.e., return].

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

43:1

حمٓ Ha Meem ١

Ḥā, Meem.

— Come To Light

43:2

وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ By the Book ٱلْمُبِينِ the clear ٢

By the clear Book,

— Come To Light

43:3

إِنَّا Indeed, We جَعَلْنَـٰهُ (have) made it قُرْءَٰنًا a Quran عَرَبِيًّۭا (in) Arabic لَّعَلَّكُمْ so that you may تَعْقِلُونَ understand ٣

Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur’ān that you might understand.

— Come To Light

43:4

وَإِنَّهُۥ And indeed, it فِىٓ (is) in أُمِّ (the) Mother ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ (of) the Book لَدَيْنَا with Us لَعَلِىٌّ surely exalted حَكِيمٌ full of wisdom ٤

And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom.

— Come To Light

43:5

أَفَنَضْرِبُ Then should We take away عَنكُمُ from you ٱلذِّكْرَ the Reminder صَفْحًا disregarding (you) أَن because كُنتُمْ you are قَوْمًۭا a people مُّسْرِفِينَ transgressing ٥

Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people?

— Come To Light

43:6

وَكَمْ And how many أَرْسَلْنَا We sent مِن of نَّبِىٍّۢ a Prophet فِى among ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ the former (people) ٦

And how many a prophet We sent among the former peoples,

— Come To Light

43:7

وَمَا And not يَأْتِيهِم came to them مِّن any Prophet نَّبِىٍّ any Prophet إِلَّا but كَانُوا۟ they used to بِهِۦ mock at him يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ mock at him ٧

But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him.

— Come To Light

43:8

فَأَهْلَكْنَآ Then We destroyed أَشَدَّ stronger مِنْهُم than them بَطْشًۭا (in) power وَمَضَىٰ and has passed مَثَلُ (the) example ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ (of) the former (people) ٨

And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded.

— Come To Light

43:9

وَلَئِن And if سَأَلْتَهُم you ask them مَّنْ Who خَلَقَ created ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضَ and the earth لَيَقُولُنَّ They will surely say خَلَقَهُنَّ Created them ٱلْعَزِيزُ the All-Mighty ٱلْعَلِيمُ the All-Knower ٩

And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing,"

— Come To Light

43:10

ٱلَّذِى The One Who جَعَلَ made لَكُمُ for you ٱلْأَرْضَ the earth مَهْدًۭا a bed وَجَعَلَ and made لَكُمْ for you فِيهَا therein سُبُلًۭا roads لَّعَلَّكُمْ so that you may تَهْتَدُونَ (be) guided ١٠

[The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided

— Come To Light
