وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم And surely, We will let them taste مِّنَ of ٱلْعَذَابِ the punishment ٱلْأَدْنَىٰ the nearer دُونَ before ٱلْعَذَابِ the punishment ٱلْأَكْبَرِ the greater لَعَلَّهُمْ so that they may يَرْجِعُونَ return ٢١
And We will surely let them taste the nearer punishment short of the greater punishment that perhaps they will return [i.e., repent].
— Come To Light
وَمَنْ And who أَظْلَمُ (is) more unjust مِمَّن than (he) who ذُكِّرَ is reminded بِـَٔايَـٰتِ of (the) Verses رَبِّهِۦ (of) his Lord ثُمَّ then أَعْرَضَ he turns away عَنْهَآ ۚ from them إِنَّا Indeed, We مِنَ from ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ the criminals مُنتَقِمُونَ (will) take retribution ٢٢
And who is more unjust than one who is reminded of the verses of his Lord; then he turns away from them? Indeed We, from the criminals, will take retribution.
— Come To Light
وَلَقَدْ And certainly ءَاتَيْنَا We gave مُوسَى Musa ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ the Scripture فَلَا so (do) not تَكُن be فِى in مِرْيَةٍۢ doubt مِّن about لِّقَآئِهِۦ ۖ receiving it وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ And We made it هُدًۭى a guide لِّبَنِىٓ for the Children of Israel إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ for the Children of Israel ٢٣
And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture, so do not be in doubt over his meeting. And We made it [i.e., the Torah] guidance for the Children of Israel.
— Come To Light
وَجَعَلْنَا And We made مِنْهُمْ from them أَئِمَّةًۭ leaders يَهْدُونَ guiding بِأَمْرِنَا by Our Command لَمَّا when صَبَرُوا۟ ۖ they were patient وَكَانُوا۟ and they were بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا of Our Verses يُوقِنُونَ certain ٢٤
And We made from among them leaders guiding by Our command when they were patient and [when] they were certain of Our signs.
— Come To Light
إِنَّ Indeed رَبَّكَ your Lord هُوَ [He] يَفْصِلُ will judge بَيْنَهُمْ between them يَوْمَ (on the) Day ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ (of) Resurrection فِيمَا in what كَانُوا۟ they used (to) فِيهِ [in it] يَخْتَلِفُونَ differ ٢٥
Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.
— Come To Light
أَوَلَمْ Does it not يَهْدِ guide لَهُمْ [for] them كَمْ (that) how many أَهْلَكْنَا We have destroyed مِن before them قَبْلِهِم before them مِّنَ of ٱلْقُرُونِ the generations يَمْشُونَ they walk about فِى in مَسَـٰكِنِهِمْ ۚ their dwellings إِنَّ Indeed فِى in ذَٰلِكَ that لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ ۖ surely, are Signs أَفَلَا Then do not يَسْمَعُونَ they hear ٢٦
Has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them, [as] they walk among their dwellings? Indeed in that are signs; then do they not hear?
— Come To Light
أَوَلَمْ Do not يَرَوْا۟ they see أَنَّا that We نَسُوقُ drive ٱلْمَآءَ water إِلَى to ٱلْأَرْضِ the land ٱلْجُرُزِ [the] barren فَنُخْرِجُ then We bring forth بِهِۦ thereby زَرْعًۭا crops تَأْكُلُ eat مِنْهُ from it أَنْعَـٰمُهُمْ their cattle وَأَنفُسُهُمْ ۖ and they themselves أَفَلَا Then do not يُبْصِرُونَ they see ٢٧
Have they not seen that We drive water [in clouds] to barren land and bring forth thereby crops from which their livestock eat and [they] themselves? Then do they not see?
— Come To Light
وَيَقُولُونَ And they say مَتَىٰ When (will be) هَـٰذَا this ٱلْفَتْحُ decision إِن if كُنتُمْ you are صَـٰدِقِينَ truthful ٢٨
And they say, "When will be this conquest, if you should be truthful?"
— Come To Light
قُلْ Say يَوْمَ (On the) Day ٱلْفَتْحِ (of) the Decision لَا not يَنفَعُ will benefit ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَفَرُوٓا۟ disbelieve إِيمَـٰنُهُمْ their belief وَلَا and not هُمْ they يُنظَرُونَ will be granted respite ٢٩
Say, [O Muḥammad], "On the Day of Conquest the belief of those who had disbelieved will not benefit them, nor will they be reprieved."
— Come To Light
فَأَعْرِضْ So turn away عَنْهُمْ from them وَٱنتَظِرْ and wait إِنَّهُم Indeed, they مُّنتَظِرُونَ (are) waiting ٣٠
So turn away from them and wait. Indeed, they are waiting.
