32. Surah As-Sajdah
The Prostration · Makki · 30 Ayahs
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
تَنزِيلُ (The) revelation ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ (of) the Book لَا (there is) no رَيْبَ doubt فِيهِ about it مِن from رَّبِّ (the) Lord ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ (of) the worlds ٢
[This is] the revelation of the Book about which there is no doubt from the Lord of the worlds.
— Come To Light
أَمْ Or يَقُولُونَ (do) they say ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۚ He invented it بَلْ Nay هُوَ it ٱلْحَقُّ (is) the truth مِن from رَّبِّكَ your Lord لِتُنذِرَ that you may warn قَوْمًۭا a people مَّآ not أَتَىٰهُم has come to them مِّن any نَّذِيرٍۢ warner مِّن before you قَبْلِكَ before you لَعَلَّهُمْ so that they may يَهْتَدُونَ be guided ٣
Or do they say, "He invented it"? Rather, it is the truth from your Lord, [O Muḥammad], that you may warn a people to whom no warner has come before you [so] perhaps they will be guided.
— Come To Light
ٱللَّهُ Allah ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who خَلَقَ created ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضَ and the earth وَمَا and whatever بَيْنَهُمَا (is) between them فِى in سِتَّةِ six أَيَّامٍۢ periods ثُمَّ Then ٱسْتَوَىٰ established Himself عَلَى on ٱلْعَرْشِ ۖ the Throne مَا Not لَكُم for you مِّن besides Him دُونِهِۦ besides Him مِن any وَلِىٍّۢ protector وَلَا and not شَفِيعٍ ۚ any intercessor أَفَلَا Then will not تَتَذَكَّرُونَ you take heed ٤
It is Allāh who created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them in six days; then He established Himself above the Throne. You have not besides Him any protector or any intercessor; so will you not be reminded?
— Come To Light
يُدَبِّرُ He regulates ٱلْأَمْرَ the affair مِنَ of ٱلسَّمَآءِ the heaven إِلَى to ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth ثُمَّ then يَعْرُجُ it will ascend إِلَيْهِ to Him فِى in يَوْمٍۢ a Day كَانَ (the) measure of which is مِقْدَارُهُۥٓ (the) measure of which is أَلْفَ a thousand سَنَةٍۢ years مِّمَّا of what تَعُدُّونَ you count ٥
He arranges [each] matter from the heaven to the earth; then it will ascend to Him in a Day, the extent of which is a thousand years of those which you count.

ذَٰلِكَ That عَـٰلِمُ (is the) Knower ٱلْغَيْبِ (of) the hidden وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ and the witnessed ٱلْعَزِيزُ the All-Mighty ٱلرَّحِيمُ the Most Merciful ٦
That is the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,
— Come To Light
ٱلَّذِىٓ The One Who أَحْسَنَ made good كُلَّ every شَىْءٍ thing خَلَقَهُۥ ۖ He created وَبَدَأَ and He began خَلْقَ (the) creation ٱلْإِنسَـٰنِ (of) man مِن from طِينٍۢ clay ٧
Who perfected everything which He created and began the creation of man from clay.
— Come To Light
ثُمَّ Then جَعَلَ He made نَسْلَهُۥ his progeny مِن from سُلَـٰلَةٍۢ an extract مِّن of مَّآءٍۢ water مَّهِينٍۢ despised ٨
Then He made his posterity out of the extract of a liquid disdained.
— Come To Light
ثُمَّ Then سَوَّىٰهُ He fashioned him وَنَفَخَ and breathed فِيهِ into him مِن from رُّوحِهِۦ ۖ His spirit وَجَعَلَ and made لَكُمُ for you ٱلسَّمْعَ the hearing وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ and the sight وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۚ and feelings قَلِيلًۭا little مَّا [what] تَشْكُرُونَ thanks you give ٩
Then He proportioned him and breathed into him from His [created] soul and made for you hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect]; little are you grateful.
— Come To Light
وَقَالُوٓا۟ And they say أَءِذَا Is (it) when ضَلَلْنَا we are lost فِى in ٱلْأَرْضِ the earth أَءِنَّا will we لَفِى certainly be in خَلْقٍۢ a creation جَدِيدٍۭ ۚ new بَلْ Nay هُم they بِلِقَآءِ in (the) meeting رَبِّهِمْ (of) their Lord كَـٰفِرُونَ (are) disbelievers ١٠
And they say, "When we are lost [i.e., disintegrated] within the earth, will we indeed be [recreated] in a new creation?" Rather, they are, in the meeting with their Lord, disbelievers.
— Come To Light
۞ قُلْ Say يَتَوَفَّىٰكُم Will take your soul مَّلَكُ (the) Angel ٱلْمَوْتِ (of) the death ٱلَّذِى the one who وُكِّلَ has been put in charge بِكُمْ of you ثُمَّ Then إِلَىٰ to رَبِّكُمْ your Lord تُرْجَعُونَ you will be returned ١١
Say, "The angel of death who has been entrusted with you will take you. Then to your Lord you will be returned."
