إِنَّ Indeed ٱلَّذِى He Who فَرَضَ ordained عَلَيْكَ upon you ٱلْقُرْءَانَ the Quran لَرَآدُّكَ (will) surely take you back إِلَىٰ to مَعَادٍۢ ۚ a place of return قُل Say رَّبِّىٓ My Lord أَعْلَمُ (is) most knowing مَن (of him) who جَآءَ comes بِٱلْهُدَىٰ with the guidance وَمَنْ and who هُوَ he فِى (is) in ضَلَـٰلٍۢ an error مُّبِينٍۢ manifest ٨٥

وَمَا And not كُنتَ you were تَرْجُوٓا۟ expecting أَن that يُلْقَىٰٓ would be sent down إِلَيْكَ to you ٱلْكِتَـٰبُ the Book إِلَّا except رَحْمَةًۭ (as) a mercy مِّن from رَّبِّكَ ۖ your Lord فَلَا So (do) not تَكُونَنَّ be ظَهِيرًۭا an assistant لِّلْكَـٰفِرِينَ to the disbelievers ٨٦

وَلَا And (let) not يَصُدُّنَّكَ avert you عَنْ from ءَايَـٰتِ (the) Verses ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah بَعْدَ after إِذْ [when] أُنزِلَتْ they have been revealed إِلَيْكَ ۖ to you وَٱدْعُ And invite (people) إِلَىٰ to رَبِّكَ ۖ your Lord وَلَا And (do) not تَكُونَنَّ be مِنَ of ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ the polytheists ٨٧

وَلَا And (do) not تَدْعُ invoke مَعَ with ٱللَّهِ Allah إِلَـٰهًا god ءَاخَرَ ۘ other لَآ (There is) no إِلَـٰهَ god إِلَّا except هُوَ ۚ Him كُلُّ Every شَىْءٍ thing هَالِكٌ (will be) destroyed إِلَّا except وَجْهَهُۥ ۚ His Face لَهُ To Him ٱلْحُكْمُ (is) the Decision وَإِلَيْهِ and to Him تُرْجَعُونَ you will be returned ٨٨

الٓمٓ Alif Laam Meem ١

أَحَسِبَ Do think ٱلنَّاسُ the people أَن that يُتْرَكُوٓا۟ they will be left أَن because يَقُولُوٓا۟ they say ءَامَنَّا We believe وَهُمْ and they لَا will not be tested يُفْتَنُونَ will not be tested ٢

وَلَقَدْ And indeed فَتَنَّا We tested ٱلَّذِينَ those who مِن (were) before them قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ (were) before them فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ And Allah will surely make evident ٱللَّهُ And Allah will surely make evident ٱلَّذِينَ those who صَدَقُوا۟ (are) truthful وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ and He will surely make evident ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ the liars ٣

أَمْ Or حَسِبَ think ٱلَّذِينَ those who يَعْمَلُونَ do ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ evil deeds أَن that يَسْبِقُونَا ۚ they can outrun Us سَآءَ Evil is مَا what يَحْكُمُونَ they judge ٤

مَن Whoever كَانَ [is] يَرْجُوا۟ hopes لِقَآءَ (for the) meeting ٱللَّهِ (with) Allah فَإِنَّ then indeed أَجَلَ (the) Term ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah لَـَٔاتٍۢ ۚ (is) surely coming وَهُوَ And He ٱلسَّمِيعُ (is) the All-Hearer ٱلْعَلِيمُ the All-Knower ٥

وَمَن And whoever جَـٰهَدَ strives فَإِنَّمَا then only يُجَـٰهِدُ he strives لِنَفْسِهِۦٓ ۚ for himself إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah لَغَنِىٌّ (is) Free from need عَنِ of ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ the worlds ٦
