2:191

وَٱقْتُلُوهُمْ And kill them حَيْثُ wherever ثَقِفْتُمُوهُمْ you find them وَأَخْرِجُوهُم and drive them out مِّنْ from حَيْثُ wherever أَخْرَجُوكُمْ ۚ they drove you out وَٱلْفِتْنَةُ and [the] oppression أَشَدُّ (is) worse مِنَ than ٱلْقَتْلِ ۚ [the] killing وَلَا And (do) not تُقَـٰتِلُوهُمْ fight them عِندَ near ٱلْمَسْجِدِ Al-Masjid ٱلْحَرَامِ Al-Haraam حَتَّىٰ until يُقَـٰتِلُوكُمْ they fight you فِيهِ ۖ in it فَإِن Then if قَـٰتَلُوكُمْ they fight you فَٱقْتُلُوهُمْ ۗ then kill them كَذَٰلِكَ Such جَزَآءُ (is the) reward ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ (of) the disbelievers ١٩١

And kill them [in battle] wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al-Ḥarām until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.

2:192

فَإِنِ Then if ٱنتَهَوْا۟ they cease فَإِنَّ then indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah غَفُورٌۭ (is) Oft-Forgiving رَّحِيمٌۭ Most Merciful ١٩٢

And if they cease, then indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.

2:193

وَقَـٰتِلُوهُمْ And fight (against) them حَتَّىٰ until لَا not تَكُونَ (there) is فِتْنَةٌۭ oppression وَيَكُونَ and becomes ٱلدِّينُ the religion لِلَّهِ ۖ for Allah فَإِنِ Then if ٱنتَهَوْا۟ they cease فَلَا then (let there be) no عُدْوَٰنَ hostility إِلَّا except عَلَى against ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ the oppressors ١٩٣

Fight them until there is no [more] fitnah and [until] religion [i.e., worship] is [acknowledged to be] for Allāh. But if they cease, then there is to be no aggression [i.e., assault] except against the oppressors.

2:194

ٱلشَّهْرُ The month ٱلْحَرَامُ [the] sacred بِٱلشَّهْرِ (is) for the month ٱلْحَرَامِ [the] sacred وَٱلْحُرُمَـٰتُ and for all the violations قِصَاصٌۭ ۚ (is) legal retribution فَمَنِ Then whoever ٱعْتَدَىٰ transgressed عَلَيْكُمْ upon you فَٱعْتَدُوا۟ then you transgress عَلَيْهِ on him بِمِثْلِ in (the) same manner مَا (as) ٱعْتَدَىٰ he transgressed عَلَيْكُمْ ۚ upon you وَٱتَّقُوا۟ And fear ٱللَّهَ Allah وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ and know أَنَّ that ٱللَّهَ Allah مَعَ (is) with ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ those who fear (Him) ١٩٤

[Battle in] the sacred month is for [aggression committed in] the sacred month, and for [all] violations is legal retribution. So whoever has assaulted you, then assault him in the same way that he has assaulted you. And fear Allāh and know that Allāh is with those who fear Him.

2:195

وَأَنفِقُوا۟ And spend فِى in سَبِيلِ (the) way ٱللَّهِ (of) Allah وَلَا and (do) not تُلْقُوا۟ throw (yourselves) بِأَيْدِيكُمْ [with your hands] إِلَى into ٱلتَّهْلُكَةِ ۛ [the] destruction وَأَحْسِنُوٓا۟ ۛ And do good إِنَّ indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah يُحِبُّ loves ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ the good-doers ١٩٥

And spend in the way of Allāh and do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction [by refraining]. And do good; indeed, Allāh loves the doers of good.

2:196

وَأَتِمُّوا۟ And complete ٱلْحَجَّ the Hajj وَٱلْعُمْرَةَ and the Umrah لِلَّهِ ۚ for Allah فَإِنْ And if أُحْصِرْتُمْ you are held back فَمَا then (offer) whatever ٱسْتَيْسَرَ (can be) obtained with ease مِنَ of ٱلْهَدْىِ ۖ the sacrificial animal وَلَا And (do) not تَحْلِقُوا۟ shave رُءُوسَكُمْ your heads حَتَّىٰ until يَبْلُغَ reaches ٱلْهَدْىُ the sacrificial animal مَحِلَّهُۥ ۚ (to) its destination فَمَن Then whoever كَانَ is مِنكُم among you مَّرِيضًا ill أَوْ or بِهِۦٓ he (has) أَذًۭى an ailment مِّن of رَّأْسِهِۦ his head فَفِدْيَةٌۭ then a ransom مِّن of صِيَامٍ fasting أَوْ or صَدَقَةٍ charity أَوْ or نُسُكٍۢ ۚ sacrifice فَإِذَآ Then when أَمِنتُمْ you are secure فَمَن then whoever تَمَتَّعَ took advantage بِٱلْعُمْرَةِ of the Umrah إِلَى followed ٱلْحَجِّ (by) the Hajj فَمَا then (offer) whatever ٱسْتَيْسَرَ (can be) obtained with ease مِنَ of ٱلْهَدْىِ ۚ the sacrificial animal فَمَن But whoever لَّمْ (can) not يَجِدْ find فَصِيَامُ then a fast ثَلَـٰثَةِ (of) three أَيَّامٍۢ days فِى during ٱلْحَجِّ the Hajj وَسَبْعَةٍ and seven (days) إِذَا when رَجَعْتُمْ ۗ you return تِلْكَ This عَشَرَةٌۭ (is) ten (days) كَامِلَةٌۭ ۗ in all ذَٰلِكَ That لِمَن (is) for (the one) whose لَّمْ not يَكُنْ is أَهْلُهُۥ his family حَاضِرِى present ٱلْمَسْجِدِ (near) Al-Masjid ٱلْحَرَامِ ۚ Al-Haraam وَٱتَّقُوا۟ And fear ٱللَّهَ Allah وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ and know أَنَّ that ٱللَّهَ Allah شَدِيدُ (is) severe ٱلْعِقَابِ (in) retribution ١٩٦

And complete the ḥajj and ʿumrah for Allāh. But if you are prevented, then [offer] what can be obtained with ease of sacrificial animals. And do not shave your heads until the sacrificial animal has reached its place of slaughter. And whoever among you is ill or has an ailment of the head [making shaving necessary must offer] a ransom of fasting [three days] or charity or sacrifice. And when you are secure, then whoever performs ʿumrah [during the ḥajj months] followed by ḥajj [offers] what can be obtained with ease of sacrificial animals. And whoever cannot find [or afford such an animal] - then a fast of three days during ḥajj and of seven when you have returned [home]. Those are ten complete [days]. This is for those whose family is not in the area of al-Masjid al-Ḥarām. And fear Allāh and know that Allāh is severe in penalty.
