2:106

۞ مَا What نَنسَخْ We abrogate مِنْ (of) ءَايَةٍ a sign أَوْ or نُنسِهَا [We] cause it to be forgotten نَأْتِ We bring بِخَيْرٍۢ better مِّنْهَآ than it أَوْ or مِثْلِهَآ ۗ similar (to) it أَلَمْ Do not تَعْلَمْ you know أَنَّ that ٱللَّهَ Allah عَلَىٰ over كُلِّ every شَىْءٍۢ thing قَدِيرٌ (is) All-Powerful ١٠٦

We do not abrogate a verse or cause it to be forgotten except that We bring forth [one] better than it or similar to it. Do you not know that Allāh is over all things competent?

— Come To Light

2:107

أَلَمْ Do not تَعْلَمْ you know أَنَّ that ٱللَّهَ Allah لَهُۥ for Him مُلْكُ (is the) Kingdom ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ (of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ and the earth وَمَا And not لَكُم (is) for you مِّن from دُونِ besides ٱللَّهِ Allah مِن any وَلِىٍّۢ protector وَلَا and not نَصِيرٍ any helper ١٠٧

Do you not know that to Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and [that] you have not besides Allāh any protector or any helper?

2:108

أَمْ Or تُرِيدُونَ (do) you wish أَن that تَسْـَٔلُوا۟ you ask رَسُولَكُمْ your Messenger كَمَا as سُئِلَ was asked مُوسَىٰ Musa مِن from قَبْلُ ۗ before وَمَن And whoever يَتَبَدَّلِ exchanges ٱلْكُفْرَ [the] disbelief بِٱلْإِيمَـٰنِ with [the] faith فَقَدْ so certainly ضَلَّ he went astray (from) سَوَآءَ (the) evenness ٱلسَّبِيلِ (of) the way ١٠٨

Or do you intend to ask your Messenger as Moses was asked before? And whoever exchanges faith for disbelief has certainly strayed from the soundness of the way.

2:109

وَدَّ Wish[ed] كَثِيرٌۭ many مِّنْ from أَهْلِ (the) People ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ (of) the Book لَوْ if يَرُدُّونَكُم they could turn you back مِّنۢ from بَعْدِ after إِيمَـٰنِكُمْ your (having) faith كُفَّارًا (to) disbelievers حَسَدًۭا (out of) jealousy مِّنْ from عِندِ (of) أَنفُسِهِم themselves مِّنۢ (even) from بَعْدِ after مَا [what] تَبَيَّنَ became clear لَهُمُ to them ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ the truth فَٱعْفُوا۟ So forgive وَٱصْفَحُوا۟ and overlook حَتَّىٰ until يَأْتِىَ brings ٱللَّهُ Allah بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ ۗ His Command إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah عَلَىٰ on كُلِّ every شَىْءٍۢ thing قَدِيرٌۭ (is) All-Powerful ١٠٩

Many of the People of the Scripture wish they could turn you back to disbelief after you have believed, out of envy from themselves [even] after the truth has become clear to them. So pardon and overlook until Allāh delivers His command. Indeed, Allāh is over all things competent.

2:110

وَأَقِيمُوا۟ And establish ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ the prayer وَءَاتُوا۟ and give ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ ۚ [the] zakah وَمَا And whatever تُقَدِّمُوا۟ you send forth لِأَنفُسِكُم for yourselves مِّنْ of خَيْرٍۢ good (deeds) تَجِدُوهُ you will find it عِندَ with ٱللَّهِ ۗ Allah إِنَّ Indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah بِمَا of what تَعْمَلُونَ you do بَصِيرٌۭ (is) All-Seer ١١٠

And establish prayer and give zakāh, and whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allāh. Indeed Allāh, of what you do, is Seeing.

2:111

وَقَالُوا۟ And they said لَن Never يَدْخُلَ will enter ٱلْجَنَّةَ the Paradise إِلَّا except مَن who كَانَ is هُودًا (a) Jew[s] أَوْ or نَصَـٰرَىٰ ۗ (a) Christian[s] تِلْكَ That أَمَانِيُّهُمْ ۗ (is) their wishful thinking قُلْ Say هَاتُوا۟ Bring بُرْهَـٰنَكُمْ your proof إِن if كُنتُمْ you are صَـٰدِقِينَ [those who are] truthful ١١١

And they say, "None will enter Paradise except one who is a Jew or a Christian." That is [merely] their wishful thinking. Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful."

2:112

بَلَىٰ Yes مَنْ whoever أَسْلَمَ submits وَجْهَهُۥ his face لِلَّهِ to Allah وَهُوَ and he مُحْسِنٌۭ (is) a good-doer فَلَهُۥٓ so for him أَجْرُهُۥ (is) his reward عِندَ with رَبِّهِۦ his Lord وَلَا And no خَوْفٌ fear عَلَيْهِمْ (will be) on them وَلَا and not هُمْ they يَحْزَنُونَ (will) grieve ١١٢

Yes, [on the contrary], whoever submits his face [i.e., self] in Islām to Allāh while being a doer of good will have his reward with his Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.
