وَٱلَّيْلِ By the night إِذَا when يَغْشَىٰ it covers ١
By the night when it covers
— Come To Light
وَٱلنَّهَارِ And the day إِذَا when تَجَلَّىٰ it shines in brightness ٢
And [by] the day when it appears
— Come To Light
وَمَا And He Who خَلَقَ created ٱلذَّكَرَ the male وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ and the female ٣
And [by] He who created the male and female,
— Come To Light
إِنَّ Indeed سَعْيَكُمْ your efforts لَشَتَّىٰ (are) surely diverse ٤
Indeed, your efforts are diverse.
— Come To Light
فَأَمَّا Then as for مَنْ (him) who أَعْطَىٰ gives وَٱتَّقَىٰ and fears ٥
As for he who gives and fears Allāh
— Come To Light
وَصَدَّقَ And believes بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ in the best ٦
And believes in the best [reward],
— Come To Light
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ Then We will ease him لِلْيُسْرَىٰ towards [the] ease ٧
We will ease him toward ease.
— Come To Light
وَأَمَّا But as for مَنۢ (him) who بَخِلَ withholds وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ and considers himself free from need ٨
But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need
— Come To Light
وَكَذَّبَ And denies بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ the best ٩
And denies the best [reward],
— Come To Light
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ Then We will ease him لِلْعُسْرَىٰ towards [the] difficulty ١٠
We will ease him toward difficulty.
— Come To Light
وَمَا And not يُغْنِى will avail عَنْهُ him مَالُهُۥٓ his wealth إِذَا when تَرَدَّىٰٓ he falls ١١
And what will his wealth avail him when he falls?
— Come To Light
