Surah Ash-Shuraa
Verse 48

فَإِنْ Then if أَعْرَضُوا۟ they turn away فَمَآ then not أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ We have sent you عَلَيْهِمْ over them حَفِيظًا ۖ (as) a guardian إِنْ Not عَلَيْكَ (is) on you إِلَّا except ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ ۗ the conveyance وَإِنَّآ And indeed إِذَآ when أَذَقْنَا We cause to taste ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ [the] man مِنَّا from Us رَحْمَةًۭ Mercy فَرِحَ he rejoices بِهَا ۖ in it وَإِن But if تُصِبْهُمْ befalls them سَيِّئَةٌۢ evil بِمَا for what قَدَّمَتْ have sent forth أَيْدِيهِمْ their hands فَإِنَّ then indeed ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ [the] man كَفُورٌۭ (is) ungrateful ٤٨

But if they turn away - then We have not sent you, [O Muḥammad], over them as a guardian; upon you is only [the duty of] notification. And indeed, when We let man taste mercy from Us, he rejoices in it; but if evil afflicts him for what his hands have put forth, then indeed, man is ungrateful.
