أَشِحَّةً Miserly عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ towards you فَإِذَا But when جَآءَ comes ٱلْخَوْفُ the fear رَأَيْتَهُمْ you see them يَنظُرُونَ looking إِلَيْكَ at you تَدُورُ revolving أَعْيُنُهُمْ their eyes كَٱلَّذِى like one who يُغْشَىٰ faints عَلَيْهِ faints مِنَ from ٱلْمَوْتِ ۖ [the] death فَإِذَا But when ذَهَبَ departs ٱلْخَوْفُ the fear سَلَقُوكُم they smite you بِأَلْسِنَةٍ with tongues حِدَادٍ sharp أَشِحَّةً miserly عَلَى towards ٱلْخَيْرِ ۚ the good أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ Those لَمْ not يُؤْمِنُوا۟ they have believed فَأَحْبَطَ so Allah made worthless ٱللَّهُ so Allah made worthless أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ ۚ their deeds وَكَانَ And is ذَٰلِكَ that عَلَى for ٱللَّهِ Allah يَسِيرًۭا easy ١٩
Indisposed toward you. And when fear comes, you see them looking at you, their eyes revolving like one being overcome by death. But when fear departs, they lash you with sharp tongues, indisposed toward [any] good. Those have not believed, so Allāh has rendered their deeds worthless, and ever is that, for Allāh, easy.
