وَلَقَدْ And verily ءَاتَيْنَا We gave مُوسَى Musa ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ the Scripture مِنۢ after [what] بَعْدِ after [what] مَآ after [what] أَهْلَكْنَا We had destroyed ٱلْقُرُونَ the generations ٱلْأُولَىٰ former بَصَآئِرَ (as) an enlightenment لِلنَّاسِ for the mankind وَهُدًۭى and a guidance وَرَحْمَةًۭ and mercy لَّعَلَّهُمْ that they may يَتَذَكَّرُونَ remember ٤٣
And We gave Moses the Scripture, after We had destroyed the former generations, as enlightenment for the people and guidance and mercy that they might be reminded.
