Hadith 1: Actions are by intentions
হাদিস ১: সকল কাজ নিয়তের উপর নির্ভরশীল
إِنَّمَا الأَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَّاتِ، وَإِنَّمَا لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مَا نَوَى
Innamal-a'malu bin-niyyat, wa innama li kullimri'in ma nawa

Actions are only by intentions, and every person will have only what they intended.

নিশ্চয়ই সকল কাজ নিয়তের উপর নির্ভরশীল, আর প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তি তা-ই পাবে যা সে নিয়ত করেছে।

Scholars described this hadith as one third of the religion, because the intention is the basis of every deed. The same outward act can be worship or mere habit depending on the intention behind it.
