The Mutual Disillusion · Madani · 18 Ayahs
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
يُسَبِّحُ Glorifies لِلَّهِ [to] Allah مَا whatever فِى (is) in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَمَا and whatever فِى (is) in ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ the earth لَهُ For Him ٱلْمُلْكُ (is the) dominion وَلَهُ and for Him ٱلْحَمْدُ ۖ (is) the praise وَهُوَ And He عَلَىٰ (is) on كُلِّ every شَىْءٍۢ thing قَدِيرٌ All-Powerful ١
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is exalting Allāh. To Him belongs dominion, and to Him belongs [all] praise, and He is over all things competent.
— Come To Light
هُوَ He ٱلَّذِى (is) the One Who خَلَقَكُمْ created you فَمِنكُمْ and among you كَافِرٌۭ (is) a disbeliever وَمِنكُم and among you مُّؤْمِنٌۭ ۚ (is) a believer وَٱللَّهُ And Allah بِمَا of what تَعْمَلُونَ you do بَصِيرٌ (is) All-Seer ٢
It is He who created you, and among you is the disbeliever, and among you is the believer. And Allāh, of what you do, is Seeing.
— Come To Light
خَلَقَ He created ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضَ and the earth بِٱلْحَقِّ with truth وَصَوَّرَكُمْ and He formed you فَأَحْسَنَ and made good صُوَرَكُمْ ۖ your forms وَإِلَيْهِ and to Him ٱلْمَصِيرُ (is) the final return ٣
He created the heavens and earth in truth and formed you and perfected your forms; and to Him is the [final] destination.
— Come To Light
يَعْلَمُ He knows مَا what فِى (is) in ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ and the earth وَيَعْلَمُ and He knows مَا what تُسِرُّونَ you conceal وَمَا and what تُعْلِنُونَ ۚ you declare وَٱللَّهُ And Allah عَلِيمٌۢ (is) All-Knowing بِذَاتِ of what ٱلصُّدُورِ (is in) the breasts ٤
He knows what is within the heavens and earth and knows what you conceal and what you declare. And Allāh is Knowing of that within the breasts.
— Come To Light
أَلَمْ Has not يَأْتِكُمْ come to you نَبَؤُا۟ (the) news ٱلَّذِينَ (of) those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved مِن from قَبْلُ before فَذَاقُوا۟ So they tasted وَبَالَ (the bad) consequence أَمْرِهِمْ (of) their affair وَلَهُمْ and for them عَذَابٌ (is) a punishment أَلِيمٌۭ painful ٥
Has there not come to you the news of those who disbelieved before? So they tasted the bad consequence of their affair, and they will have a painful punishment.
— Come To Light
ذَٰلِكَ That بِأَنَّهُۥ (is) because كَانَت had تَّأْتِيهِمْ come to them رُسُلُهُم their Messengers بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ with clear proofs فَقَالُوٓا۟ but they said أَبَشَرٌۭ Shall human beings يَهْدُونَنَا guide us فَكَفَرُوا۟ So they disbelieved وَتَوَلَّوا۟ ۚ and turned away وَّٱسْتَغْنَى And can do without them ٱللَّهُ ۚ Allah وَٱللَّهُ And Allah غَنِىٌّ (is) Self-sufficient حَمِيدٌۭ Praiseworthy ٦
That is because their messengers used to come to them with clear evidences, but they said, "Shall human beings guide us?" and disbelieved and turned away. And Allāh dispensed [with them]; and Allāh is Free of need and Praiseworthy.
— Come To Light
زَعَمَ Claim ٱلَّذِينَ those who كَفَرُوٓا۟ disbelieve أَن that لَّن never يُبْعَثُوا۟ ۚ will they be raised قُلْ Say بَلَىٰ Yes وَرَبِّى by my Lord لَتُبْعَثُنَّ surely you will be raised ثُمَّ then لَتُنَبَّؤُنَّ surely you will be informed بِمَا of what عَمِلْتُمْ ۚ you did وَذَٰلِكَ And that عَلَى for ٱللَّهِ Allah يَسِيرٌۭ (is) easy ٧
Those who disbelieve have claimed that they will never be resurrected. Say, "Yes, by my Lord, you will surely be resurrected; then you will surely be informed of what you did. And that, for Allāh, is easy."
— Come To Light
فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ So believe بِٱللَّهِ in Allah وَرَسُولِهِۦ and His Messenger وَٱلنُّورِ and the Light ٱلَّذِىٓ which أَنزَلْنَا ۚ We have sent down وَٱللَّهُ And Allah بِمَا of what تَعْمَلُونَ you do خَبِيرٌۭ (is) All-Aware ٨
So believe in Allāh and His Messenger and the light [i.e., the Qur’ān] which We have sent down. And Allāh is Aware of what you do.
— Come To Light
يَوْمَ (The) Day يَجْمَعُكُمْ He will assemble you لِيَوْمِ for (the) Day ٱلْجَمْعِ ۖ (of) the Assembly ذَٰلِكَ that يَوْمُ (will be the) Day ٱلتَّغَابُنِ ۗ (of) mutual loss and gain وَمَن And whoever يُؤْمِنۢ believes بِٱللَّهِ in Allah وَيَعْمَلْ and does صَـٰلِحًۭا righteous deeds يُكَفِّرْ He will remove عَنْهُ from him سَيِّـَٔاتِهِۦ his evil deeds وَيُدْخِلْهُ and He will admit him جَنَّـٰتٍۢ (to) Gardens تَجْرِى flow مِن from تَحْتِهَا underneath it ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ the rivers خَـٰلِدِينَ abiding فِيهَآ therein أَبَدًۭا ۚ forever ذَٰلِكَ That ٱلْفَوْزُ (is) the success ٱلْعَظِيمُ the great ٩
The Day He will assemble you for the Day of Assembly - that is the Day of Deprivation. And whoever believes in Allāh and does righteousness - He will remove from him his misdeeds and admit him to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.
— Come To Light
وَٱلَّذِينَ But those who كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved وَكَذَّبُوا۟ and denied بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ [in] Our Verses أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ those أَصْحَـٰبُ (are the) companions ٱلنَّارِ (of) the Fire خَـٰلِدِينَ abiding forever فِيهَا ۖ therein وَبِئْسَ And wretched is ٱلْمَصِيرُ the destination ١٠
But the ones who disbelieved and denied Our verses - those are the companions of the Fire, abiding eternally therein; and wretched is the destination.
— Come To Light
مَآ Not أَصَابَ strikes مِن any مُّصِيبَةٍ disaster إِلَّا except بِإِذْنِ by (the) permission ٱللَّهِ ۗ (of) Allah وَمَن And whoever يُؤْمِنۢ believes بِٱللَّهِ in Allah يَهْدِ He guides قَلْبَهُۥ ۚ his heart وَٱللَّهُ And Allah بِكُلِّ of every شَىْءٍ thing عَلِيمٌۭ (is) All-Knowing ١١
No disaster strikes except by permission of Allāh. And whoever believes in Allāh - He will guide his heart. And Allāh is Knowing of all things.
— Come To Light
وَأَطِيعُوا۟ So obey ٱللَّهَ Allah وَأَطِيعُوا۟ and obey ٱلرَّسُولَ ۚ the Messenger فَإِن but if تَوَلَّيْتُمْ you turn away فَإِنَّمَا then only عَلَىٰ upon رَسُولِنَا Our Messenger ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ (is) the conveyance ٱلْمُبِينُ clear ١٢
And obey Allāh and obey the Messenger; but if you turn away - then upon Our Messenger is only [the duty of] clear notification.
— Come To Light
ٱللَّهُ Allah لَآ (there is) no إِلَـٰهَ god إِلَّا except هُوَ ۚ Him وَعَلَى And upon ٱللَّهِ Allah فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ let put (their) trust ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ the believers ١٣
Allāh - there is no deity except Him. And upon Allāh let the believers rely.
— Come To Light
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O ٱلَّذِينَ (you) who ءَامَنُوٓا۟ believe إِنَّ Indeed مِنْ from أَزْوَٰجِكُمْ your spouses وَأَوْلَـٰدِكُمْ and your children عَدُوًّۭا (are) enemies لَّكُمْ to you فَٱحْذَرُوهُمْ ۚ so beware of them وَإِن But if تَعْفُوا۟ you pardon وَتَصْفَحُوا۟ and overlook وَتَغْفِرُوا۟ and forgive فَإِنَّ then indeed ٱللَّهَ Allah غَفُورٌۭ (is) Oft-Forgiving رَّحِيمٌ Most Merciful ١٤
O you who have believed, indeed, among your spouses and your children are enemies to you, so beware of them. But if you pardon and overlook and forgive - then indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.
— Come To Light
إِنَّمَآ Only أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ your wealth وَأَوْلَـٰدُكُمْ and your children فِتْنَةٌۭ ۚ (are) a trial وَٱللَّهُ and Allah عِندَهُۥٓ with Him أَجْرٌ (is) a reward عَظِيمٌۭ great ١٥
Your wealth and your children are but a trial, and Allāh has with Him a great reward.
— Come To Light
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ So fear ٱللَّهَ Allah مَا what ٱسْتَطَعْتُمْ you are able وَٱسْمَعُوا۟ and listen وَأَطِيعُوا۟ and obey وَأَنفِقُوا۟ and spend خَيْرًۭا (it is) better لِّأَنفُسِكُمْ ۗ for yourselves وَمَن And whoever يُوقَ is saved شُحَّ (from the) greediness نَفْسِهِۦ (of) his soul فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ then those هُمُ [they] ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ (are) the successful ones ١٦
So fear Allāh as much as you are able and listen and obey and spend [in the way of Allāh]; it is better for your selves. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.
— Come To Light
إِن If تُقْرِضُوا۟ you loan ٱللَّهَ (to) Allah قَرْضًا a loan حَسَنًۭا goodly يُضَـٰعِفْهُ He will multiply it لَكُمْ for you وَيَغْفِرْ and will forgive لَكُمْ ۚ you وَٱللَّهُ And Allah شَكُورٌ (is) Most Appreciative حَلِيمٌ Most Forbearing ١٧
If you loan Allāh a goodly loan, He will multiply it for you and forgive you. And Allāh is [most] Appreciative and Forbearing,
— Come To Light
عَـٰلِمُ (The) Knower ٱلْغَيْبِ (of) the unseen وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ and the witnessed ٱلْعَزِيزُ the All-Mighty ٱلْحَكِيمُ the All-Wise ١٨
Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
— Come To Light
